Property taxes are due Tuesday, February 28 by midnight. Beginning March 1, real property taxes must be paid to Van Buren County Treasurer.

Voting

In 2016, we will see three elections.  March 8 Presidential Primary, August 2 State Primary and November 8 General.  In order to participate in these elections, you must be registered to vote 30 days prior to the election.

March 8- deadline is February 8, August 2 – deadline is July 5, November 8 – deadline is October 11 

To register to vote, you must be all of the following:

  1.  A U.S. citizen
  2. At least 18 years old by Election Day
  3. A resident of Michigan
  4. A resident of the city or township where you are applying to register to vote.

There you will find information about registering to vote and voting, voting equipment, polling place locations, state and local ballots, the candidates, campaign finance and more. Your local clerk can help with questions about your voter registration, polling place location and working at the polls.
